The TournamentQualifiers for the NLOP Player's Championship will be held online at NLOP.com throughout the year. The Championship event will be held on August 1st 2009 in Las Vegas Nevada. One hundred players will qualify into the Player's Championship where they will compete for the $20,000 grand prize and the title of 2009 NLOP Player's Champion. The Championship Tournament hosted by the Venetian Resort & Casino will utilize a 100-player, ten table, Double Shootout format. A Double Shootout format means that a player only need to beat the other 9 players at the table before advancing to the next round of competition.
Each of the ten tables will play down to a single winner and that player will advance to the final championship table. Chips won at the initial table will not be carried over to the final table. At the end of the first round both the blinds and the chip stacks will be reset to their initial amount and the final 10 players will play until an ultimate champion is determined. All of the players advancing to the final table will be "in the money".
